Mineure 47.

The dark double of Prometheus – Metamorphosis and technics

As told by Ovid, the myth of Arachnè presents the potentiality of life as inseparable from the movement of metamorphosis. The immanent metamorphosis of the spider (arakhné) proves the technical power of the body – or tekhné as its real primitive power. Thus this myth is definitely more than an allegory of the seizure of power on the body – the ground operation of every (bio)politics. It draws another operation or counter-operation, that of a metamorphosis: the body changes but through the invention of new techniques through which the body itself becomes a new weapon. As if the myth of Arachnè had complemented Deleuze with an advance of two thousand years: we need new weapons, therefore we need new bodies. That is the lesson – and the example – of Arachnè, the dark double of Prometheus.

Organizing the Disappropriation, Liberating the Common

Human being is in crisis. He has to escape the anthropocentric construction of the world, in order to recover the Common that precedes and goes beyond him. Premises of this revolutionary call, whose aim is the liberation of the Common, happe through the world via some new political struggles. Their common feature: organizing the dis-appropriation. Their goal: the abolition of property. That’s how a politics of hospitality is at stake, capable to accommodate every being and expression of nature, without any kind of discrimination, below a conception of property which lies at the core of humanism and is the origin of exclusion and domination of what exists, persists, moves out of human, without him.
