He explains how, from the 1920s onwards, certain Jewish immigrants, initially committed to Zionism, became aware of the contradictions between their internationalist ideals and the nationalist reality of Zionism, leading to the creation of communist movements. Today, these forces continue to exist and their numbers are growing, particularly among young people refusing to serve in the army. Cooperation between anti-Zionist Israelis and Palestinians remains a key element, even if it is hampered by the political climate and divisions within progressive regional movements. Cassif forcefully denounces the fascist drift of the Israeli government, while calling for a transnationalist commitment to justice and solidarity between Palestinians and Israelis.
