Cet article revisite la lecture que propose Antonio Negri des principaux textes théoriques de Rem Koolhaas (Bigness, Generic City et Junkspace). Negri identifie dans l’œuvre de Koolhaas une rare tentative de comprendre la métropole globale comme un phénomène nouveau, complexe et porteur de potentialités propres. L’article examine la portée de ce rapprochement à la lumière des transformations urbaines contemporaines. Dans un contexte de crise planétaire et urbaine, il interroge la persistance de la puissance biopolitique métropolitaine ainsi que l’émergence de nouveaux horizons du commun entre territoires, réseaux et algorithmes.
Biopolitical Junskspace, Algorithms and Horizons of the Commons
This article revisits Antonio Negri’s reading of some of Rem Koolhaas’s major theoretical texts, particularly Bigness, Generic City, and Junkspace. Negri identifies in Koolhaas’s work a rare attempt to understand the global metropolis as a new, complex phenomenon endowed with its own potentialities. The article examines the scope of this rapprochement in light of contemporary urban transformations. In a context of planetary and urban crisis, it questions the persistence of metropolitan biopolitical power and the emergence of new horizons of the common across territories, networks, and algorithms.
